Mission Statement
Survivors Awareness is dedicated to empowering survivors of sexual violence by providing a safe and supportive space for healing through creative therapy. We strive to inspire resilience, foster community, and promote mental well-being, ensuring that every survivor has access to the resources and support they need to reclaim their lives.
Description
The organization was founded in 2021, by Nevaeh Calliste-Williams, a high school student at the time. She experienced sexual violence first hand and recognized many others in her community did as well and weren't getting the necessary emotional or mental help they deserved. With this in mind, she created Survivors Awareness.
Survivors Awareness is a nonprofit organization committed to helping survivors of sexual violence heal and thrive through innovative and creative therapy methods. We offer a range of programs, from guided mindfulness workshops to arts and crafts sessions, all designed to support mental health and foster a sense of community. Our events are carefully crafted to encourage self-expression, self-love, and personal growth, creating a welcoming environment where survivors can connect, share their stories, and heal together. At Survivors Awareness, we believe in the power of creativity and community to transform lives, and we are dedicated to being a beacon of hope for all survivors.
