You will be working (remotely) with our marketing and political data teams to communicate and inspire everyone building and using We Vote. About Us We Vote is a nonpartisan get-out-the-vote nonprofit startup (501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4), and a celebrated Fast Forward nonprofit technology grantee. We Vote is a movement of 26 active volunteers (starting with the founders) who build open-source mobile technologies that touch and mobilize millions of voters leading up to elections (there are elections every month somewhere in America). More information is at https://WeVote.US. See Twitter @WeVote. What You'll Do Attend the marketing and political data team meetings to stay up-to-date on the cutting edge of all things We Vote. You will always be on the lookout for fascinating topics to report about internally, or out to politicians, advocacy groups, donors or public figures. Use different analytics tools to analyze the performance of marketing content. Compile data into a weekly report. Be able to help the team draw conclusions and make adjustments to best achieve We Vote’s marketing objectives. Translate data into a visual context. Work closely with other volunteers. Who you are: Must haves. Familiarity or interest in using analytical tools such as Google Adwords or Google Analytics. Storytelling ability and the capability to use data to create a cohesive narrative. A proactive approach and the ability to work under ambiguity. You want to work with an established and successful team. You are committed to strengthening American Democracy. You will work remotely with our active team to help us get ready for multiple elections. Our ideal volunteer is passionate about politics and excited to use technology to educate voters and increase voter turnout. What You'll Do Welcome new donors with a personal message and thank you gifts Respond to questions from potential and current donors Expand donor base by researching and developing a portfolio of potential donors Assist with writing, editing, and packaging funding proposals Prepare and send emails to potential donors to solicit donations Help create and maintain a donor database Send thank you notes and appropriate tax receipts to donors Collaborate with communications and marketing team to design, create, and produce materials and collateral associated with fundraising efforts Who you are: Must haves. We hold our face-to-face meetings in Oakland and San Francisco CA, and would love to be able to have meetings in person. An academic degree or work experience in engineering.
