We are currently looking for volunteers with sewing/quilting experience that would be willing to make Fidget (Sensory) blankets and pillows for our patients. Fidget blankets/pillows are therapeutic quilts to which different items have been attached or sewn on. These items offer sensory stimulation that has a calming effect on Alzheimer’s and dementia patients. The blankets alleviate boredom in the elderly and provide a means of performing repetitive behaviors that are often comforting and distracting. You can also deliver this blanket or pillow personally if you would like.
