Mission Statement
Greater Works Evangelism Church is built upon the foundation of Jesus Christ the son of the living God. GWEC seeks to preach the gospel of the kingdom that minister to the total person, spiritually (spirit), mentally (mind), emotionally (soul), & physically (body). We seek to glorify God by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor, reaching the lost, healing the broken hearted, equipping and training people to walk in the Kingdom of God on earth in dominion thereby build a multicultural, multigenerational, church in the earth. We seek to perfect the saints, do the work of the ministry, and edify of the body of Christ, through the fivefold ministry gifts of the Apostles, Prophets, Evangelist, Pastors, and Teachers. We also seek to establish a powerful Apostolic Distribution Center that is active in community development, business, social services, and Christian educational institutions, that will empower people to lead. Description
Greater Works Evangelism Church is a 501(c)3 tax exempt, Not for Profit organization listed as a Charity with The Internal Revenue Service. Our ministry has been in operation since 1991 doing evangelism and community outreach services throughout Chicagoland. Our church and community services were located at the Community Service Options, banquet hall at 6845 South Western Ave, Chicago IL 60636 from 2013 until the pandemic started in 2019 canceling our services. We are now looking to acquire the old Walgreens property located at 159 th and Kedzie in Markham IL (or a like building) to resume our Ministry and Community Services Programs that included the following: 1) After School Tutoring Program, 2) General Educational Development and Literacy program, 3) Re-entry counseling services for those reentering society from incarceration, 4) Young men’s and women’s crime prevention mentoring programs, 5) Job Training and job readiness programs such as: Construction Forklift Operators, Construction Flaggers, Armed and unarmed Security Training, Blueprint Reading, Computer Training, CPR and Janitorial Training.
