Mission Statement
Founded in 2005, HERA mobilises business and academic expertise, creativity, and resources to prevent and redress the £115 billion/annum business of human trafficking and re-trafficking. HERA works with women survivors of trafficking, conflict, exploitation and other forms of violence. HERA also works with young women vulnerable to trafficking and re-trafficking to pursue their aspirations and ambitions for a better life. Each year HERA awards grants to small women owned businesses, including in Ukraine, Moldova, Armenia and Georgia. With the ongoing war in Ukraine, HERA is also focussing on another mission: to secure the safe asylum of Ukrainians leaving the country. We work specifically with past grantees to ensure they receive the assistance and support needed during this time. During this constantly changing situation, HERA maintains communication with its Ukrainian contacts in order to find them housing, schools, jobs, visas and more in France.
Description
In the last 17 years, HERA has supported over 300 businesses leading to the creation of over 500 new jobs. Our grantees represent drive, resilience, cleverness and innovation. They are leaders in their community and help inspire others to follow in their steps.
HERA's goal is to protect young women from being vulnerable to human trafficking. HERA gives grants to small women owned businesses who employee women vulnerable to trafficking, typically under the age of 25. These grants help grow the business, employee women, and give back to their society.Reviews
