Mission Statement

Adirondack North Country Sports Council Mission Statement: • To educate, promote, encourage, foster, and enhance the public's knowledge and interest in national and international sports competitions and concepts. • To provide aid and assistance in social, volunteer, and business ways to national and international amateur athletics. • To centralize national and international sports management, volunteerism, and other support services for the Adirondack North Country Region. • To encourage and support the growth of the regional economy with sustainable employment and business opportunities by bolstering our sports heritage both nationally and globally. • To encourage and support friendly competition, growth, and learning experiences for athletes of all ages and nationalities.

Hosted by the Adirondack North Country Sports Council, the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games will take place from January 12th 2023- January 22nd 2023.
Be a part of the rich history of sport in Lake Placid and the North Country region by volunteering for the Lake Placid 2023 FISU World University Games. Join us for the largest celebration of university sport in the world and the opportunity to work with more than 2,500 athletes and coaches from over 50 nations, worldwide and domestic media, marketing partners and VIPs. Apply for a unique volunteer role in one of the areas listed below to help us show the world our legendary North Country hospitality.
