Mission Statement
Afghanistan Youth Relief Foundation’s mission is to aid emergency relief, survival, and development for all refugees. It is also to aid the emergency needs of resources by distributing needs internationally to our schools in Kabul, Afghanistan. For Phase II, we aim to use our capability in providing emergency relief needs and a Resource Center for all newcomers.
Description
Overall, we unite supporters with the refugee populations. Our programs have been proven by our success to date. We’ve collectively logged over 2,000 hours of volunteer time, 600+ volunteer shifts filled by over 800+ unique volunteers, and shipped 347+ pallets to military bases around the U.S. We’ve established a strong social media presence and collected donations from schools, churches, and small businesses around the D.C. area, and have also received donations from out-of-state supporters such as a small business in South Carolina and a family in Alabama.
We are slowly transitioning our efforts toward resettlement and have already helped individual families in the D.C. area, as well as a community of twenty families in Maryland. We’ve supported these families with critical supplies as they begin their lives in the U.S., such as clothing, medicine, furniture, and other household goods.
