About the Museum of Food and Culture The Museum of Food and Culture is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2019 to inspire curiosity, creativity and community through food, history and culture. We host virtual and partnership programs throughout the Denver metropolitan area. Position Overview Are you passionate about food and social justice? We are looking for a committed board member to serve on our organization's working Board of Directors. Board member's responsibilities include developing and advising on strategic plans, volunteering their expertise, and serving as an advocate for the Museum of Food and Culture. Board members must also prepare and actively participate in monthly board meetings and committee meetings. We are currently recruiting board members who have professional experience in nonprofit management, fundraising and grant writing, and marketing.

You will support the creation and scheduling of website content, newsletter emails, and social posts that promote programs, share fun facts, and build our audience. Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Director in brand storytelling across multiple platforms Pitch and execute story ideas to be featured in blogs and/or in our newsletter Craft social media posts Update and maintain website, as needed Skills & Qualifications: Strong creative writer Social media savvy (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Comfortable conceptualizing and pitching ideas Basic knowledge of Wix or other web-hosting platforms Understanding of PR best practices Passionate about the Museum of Food and Culture’s programs, mission and vision Must work cooperatively with board, staff and volunteers

We host virtual and partnership programs throughout the Denver metropolitan area. Summary: Help our museum grow! We are looking for volunteers to help us draft grant applications and support our annual fundraiser event! Requirements: Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources. Provide support to the Executive Director for meetings with donors. Assist with other fundraising projects as requested. Track and manage follow-up on the progress of submitted proposals Support proposal generation process and response to RFPs, Pre-Qualification, Bidding and formal presentations. Develop materials showing progress of programs for donor updates and ongoing communications. Support compliance with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors. Write and maintain correspondence including concept notes, proposals, reports, and introductions Skills & Qualifications: Knowledge of fundraising information sources. Experience with grant and proposal writing; nonprofit experience a plus Experience with communicating with individual and institutional donors. Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies. Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research. Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized. Clear, precise and compelling writing skills. High proficiency in all areas of Google Suite or Microsoft Office Passionate about the Museum of Food and Culture’s programs, mission and vision Must work cooperatively with board, staff and volunteers
