Share My Meals is looking for volunteers to support an exciting pilot program that will run in Hopewell and Trenton areas from spring to early fall 2024. This program is the first of its kind and will help test a new approach to meal distribution for eligible recipients as well as evaluate the potential health benefits of our meal recovery program. There are two ways to help: Meal transportation: Drive meals from our food hub in Princeton to Hopewell and Trenton on Wednesdays and/or Fridays between 1:45 and 2:45pm. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least two drives per month (and ideally more) over the 6 month period. AND/OR Meal Distribution: Hand out meal trays to recipients at either the Hopewell or Trenton sites. Distribution takes place every Wednesday and Friday from 3 to 4pm. Volunteers need to arrive on site at least 15 minutes prior to check in and get set up. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to at least two sessions per month (and ideally more) over the 6 month period. /!\ Meal Distribution volunteers must meet certain requirements including a background check (paid for by SMM) and proof of specific immunizations/tests - measles, mumps, rubella (MMR vaccine), Chicken pox (Varicella vaccine), Tuberculosis test, Flu and Covid-19 vaccines.
