Do you love to cook? Do you enjoy helping others that can't cook for themselves? We are needing a volunteer willing to make and deliver meals to hospice patients: - One patient at a time - 2-3 meals once a week - Flexible Schedule - Hospice training provided Hospice is for those facing life-limiting illnesses. CenterCare Hospice provides compassionate care and support for a transition marked by dignity and meaning. When people hear the word "hospice," they often associate it with death. But hospice is really about embracing each day, sharing time with family and loved ones, and easing through a natural stage of life. Volunteers are a big part of providing an extra loving hand to help these families in this difficult time of life.

CenterCare Hospice is looking for a caring volunteer to make 'Tuck-in' Phone calls to caregivers every Thursday or Friday of each week working from the comfort of their own home. What are 'Tuck-in' phone calls? These are calls to touch base with a caregiver or patient to see how they are doing before the coming weekend to anticipate any needs or pain concerns, The volunteer relays these needs or concerns to the Hospice Volunteer Coordinator and records all communication's for each call. Responsibilities: - Initiate phone calls to patients on a weekly basis and establish caring relationships with patients family. - Availability to make phone calls each Thursday or Friday for about 1 Hour each Week - Ability to access a computer and email - Ability to complete a time sheet All volunteers will go through a screening process which includes: Background check, Drug testing, Vaccinations, TB Testing and Hospice Training.

We are seeking volunteers that enjoy sewing! Use your talents and passion to bring Joy to the lives of others. CenterCare Hospice provides Memory Bears to family members as part of our bereavement services. Patients’ clothing such as a favorite shirt is transformed into a comforting family keepsake. Families can literally hold onto cherished memories of their loved one in the form of a huggable Memory Bear or Pillow. Experienced seamstress with at least an intermediate skill level are needed to create memory projects. CenterCare Hospice provides the pattern and supplies. We will make all arrangements to drop off supplies and pick up projects. All we need from you is your time and talent. Have you experienced Grief? Do you feel led to help others as they grieve? We are looking for a person that is willing to help bereaved families. Possible duties would include: - Sending Cards and Bereavement letters to families - Help the Bereavement team start a Bereavement Group - Make Bereavement Calls - Meet one-on-one with bereaved clients Training is free and Includes: - Hospice 101 - Bereavement for Volunteers - HIPPA

Volunteer for Hospice!
There are three primary types of volunteer opportunities:
*Patient Care
*Bereavement Care
*Office Support
We are also looking for special talents: music therapy, massage therapy, beautician/barber and pet therapy just to name a few. CenterCare Hospice is committed to providing compassionate care for our friends and neighbors. All volunteers will receive training and are supported by the Volunteer Coordinator.
