Our Mission: The mission of Community Builders for Monterey County (CBMC) is to build a culture of volunteer and community engagement that drives a thriving, healthy and inclusive Monterey County. To this end, we help community members realize their own potential as catalysts toward real, positive change that meets the challenges we face in Monterey County. We educate, advocate and inspire action through volunteer and civic engagement. Our Vision: A community that transforms compassion into deeper relationships and social impact
Community Builders began in the summer of 2017 with the idea of making volunteering more accessible. Our website hosts a variety of needs from many dfferent causes from over 90 organizations across Monterey where people can search online to match their interests to a need or contact us directly.
Our volunteers manage much of our outreach through social media, newsletters and other digital communication. We are a hub that continually updates our knowlegde on local needs, issues and opportunties to best inform and engage community members to "do good." CBMC is specicially working with environmental groups, devleoping a program to reduce isolation through volunteerism and implenting a new outreach effort based on issues edcuation for social impact.
