About Giving Forward Giving Forward generates revenue for other nonprofits via unconventional channels including cause marketing, publishing, volunteerism marketplaces, virtual events, promotions (contests and sweepstakes), NFTs, and commerce. Giving Forward supports US-Based 501c3s of all sizes, across every major cause category. The Human Resources Intern will support the HR General Management team in enhancing Giving Forward’s brand and online presence through strategic planning and best practices. In spring 2022, the internship will focus on: expanding Giving Forward’s capacity on project management; engaging with internship inquiries on Giving Forward's presence on Handshake, WayUp, and LinkedIn; and assisting with developing and executing HR components for our annual Sweeps for a Cause celebration and other special events. Our commitment is to train the intern on several aspects of organizational design and recruitment goals. We are looking for interns with entrepreneurial skills with the opportunity to gain tangible, transferable skills in developing organizational strategy, executing HR initiatives, supporting and/ or managing projects, and assisting with additional HR initiatives. Position Description Our HR and General Management interns help manage the other interns and their projects, interviewing, and outreach with educational institutions that offer interns who are seeking to develop their HR skills. Giving forward is looking for individuals to be part of a growing team. The following is the description: Screen resumes and message potential candidates Track progress, priorities, and deadlines of various projects Handle client requests and deliver quality solutions if able, or escalate the request to a more senior team member Assist in developing and coordinating program-related meetings, events and activities. Organizational design Assist with developing position descriptions, interview training, and recruitment strategies Internships are remote. We do have a NYC office, but don't anticipate heavy use. Number of positions available: 10+ To be successful interns, at a minimum, must have experience in task management, research, writing, and communications. Requirements Most important requirement is intelligence combined with an interest in supporting nonprofits of all types. It's even better when you enjoy working on a team and taking on extra responsibility. High Degree of Motivation and Creativity Commitment to 10-15 hours per week with ability to meet weekly for Individual check-ins Work well independently in a project-focused and small team centric environment. Proficiency using Google software (e.g., Gmail, Google Drive, Chat, Meet, etc.) Excellent oral and written skills with ability to communicate professionally Deadline driven focused with sharp organization, coordination and multi-tasking skills Education Requirements Junior, Senior or Graduate student enrolled in a degree -seeking program with a focus on human resources, social impact, non profit management, public administration, and public affairs.

The Marketing & Communications Intern will support the Development team in enhancing Giving Forward’s brand and online presence through storytelling, strategic messaging, and marketing best practices. In spring 2022, the internship will focus on: expanding Giving Forward’s capacity on social media for collaboration; developing Giving Forward's presence on Handshake, WayUp, and LinkedIn; and assisting with developing and executing marketing components for our annual Sweeps for a Cause celebration and other special events. Our commitment is to train the intern on several aspects of marketing and communications goals. We are looking for interns with entrepreneurial skills with the opportunity to gain tangible, transferable skills in developing marketing strategy, executing digital storytelling, managing a brand, and assisting with additional marketing initiatives. Responsibilities Developing strategy and content for Giving Forward’s social media audiences that is relevant to Giving Forward’s work and impact Researching other influential social media accounts and influencers for opportunities to collaborate Assisting with Giving Forward’s overall social media strategy and management to enhance our position as a thought leader in the field of philanthropy Collaborating with Development Team to plan Giving Forward’s virtual Sweeps for a Cause celebration by assembling materials, creating graphics, and supporting on event day Assisting with newsletters and direct mailing of appeals to the Giving Forward’s community Other duties as assigned Specific schedule requirements: Requires 8-10 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Occasionally this intern may be asked to attend virtual events outside of traditional business hours. Required qualifications Meticulous and a close attention to detail, with the ability to self-monitor for mistakes, troubleshoot, and closely follow a process Passion for inclusive and equitable impact Self-starter who will take ownership of a project and initiate tasks Works well with others in a collaborative and inclusive environment Proficiency in Google Drive Preferred qualifications Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn Strong copywriting and editing skills Strong eye for graphic design Previous experience working with refugees or in any multicultural environment **This is an unpaid internship. Intern positions are open until filled. College credit can be arranged.
