Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic (CCMA) mobilizes the collective commitment and capacity of higher education and community partners in the region to develop global citizens and co-create just, equitable, and sustainable institutions and communities.

Description

Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic (CCMA) is a non-profit membership association of public, private, 2- and 4- year colleges and universities. CCMA provides leadership to colleges and universities in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Delaware by advocating, supporting, and encouraging institutional participation in academic and co-curricular based public service and civic engagement programs. CCMA strengthens the capacity of member institutions to enhance student learning and meaningfully engage with communities. CCMA is supported through a combination of institutional dues, federal and private grants, donations, and in-kind contributions. The CCMA office is located at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.

History

Established in 2008 as the Maryland Campus Compact (MDCC), in 2011 MDCC expanded to include the District of Columbia, becoming the Maryland-DC Campus Compact (MDCCC). In 2017 MDCCC expanded to include Delaware, becoming Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic (CCMA). Campus Compact Mid-Atlantic is a region-wide higher education association comprised of two- and four-year public and private colleges and universities. Member institutions are committed to bringing the resources of the academy to bear on community issues, both locally and globally, through sustainable partnerships with their communities.
