Catalyst Mentoring

Description

Catalyst Mentoring’s mission is to recruit, train, and support mentors who can reach out to the youth in our community. A startling statistic in Shasta County is that we have double the state and national average of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This means that kids in our community face years of repeated cycles of dysfunction, pain, and trauma. As a result, they are more likely to use drugs, solve their problems with physical violence, and drop out of school. However, we at Catalyst believe there can be a better future for the children of our county. We are convinced that healthy adult mentors can change the trajectory of a child's life in a positive way.
