The Treasurer is a volunteer position with Beautiful Broken Vessels, that oversee and manage organizations financial reports, financial management, execution of duties that balance the budget and impact public perception, trust and assurance. They are responsible for making sure there are enough funds to pay all expenses, as well as looking into ways to raise money for the organization. They are also responsible for ensuring all income and expenses are accounted for; maintaining accurate records of all funds, donations made to other organizations and more. The Treasurer will create financial reports to present during the annual and quarterly meetings. They must be knowledgeable about handling money, understand finances, know how to create and maintain budgets, know about accounting systems and forecasting the future success of Beautiful Broken Vessels. The Treasurer will meet with the President/Board Chair to ensure the organization’s financials remain in line with core values, mission and vision statement.

We are looking for board members who are diverse in multiple fields, such as marketing, finance, admin/writing, social work, teaching, accounting and more. We would prefer those who have previous board member experience but it is not mandatory. We would also like 1 board member to wear multiple hats; with the ability to build an ad-hoc team to help with their duties. Duties: Reconciling bank statements Manage cash flow Know how to and who has access to organizations funds Knowledgeable regarding bills, debts owed Present balanced budget Secretary: The secretary should be knowledgeable of the organization’s records and related materials, and should be able to provide advice and resources to the board on relevant topics at issue, such as particular governance matters being addressed at a meeting or a new amendment to state corporate law, for example. knowing and complying with notice requirements and scheduling meetings to accommodate the directors. scheduling board meetings and should ensure an adequate number of meetings are held per year, in accordance with the organization’s bylaws charged with recording minutes of meetings responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and meeting legal requirements, such as annual filing deadlines Fundraising Chair: The Fundraising Chair will work in tandem with the Treasurer to make sure the annual Operating/Net Working Capital goals are steadily met. They will construct and provide monthly reports for the Board meetings as well as potential grant funders. Oversee fundraising events Manage large gifts and donor relations Solicit sponsors for fundraising events Locate and build rapport with companies that provide "donation match" opportunities for employees Grant proposals/writing Training can be provided if needed

The secretary for Beautiful Broken Vessels plays a critical role in fostering communication and ensuring proper management and utilization of important organizational records. The secretary will give proper notice of any meetings and timely distribution of materials such as agendas and meeting minutes. The secretary should be knowledgeable of the organization’s records and related materials, and should be able to provide advice and resources to the board on relevant topics at issue, such as particular governance matters being addressed at a meeting or a new amendment to state corporate law, for example. The secretary should aim to be helpful to the board as they discharge their fiduciary duties. It may be helpful for the secretary to have a calendar of filing deadlines, which may include a filing with the corporation’s Secretary of State, the Attorney General, the state tax agency, and the IRS. The secretary is responsible for reviewing and updating documents as necessary and ensuring all documents are safely stored and readily accessible for inspection by directors and/or members. T he Secretary also plans, develops and enforces policies and objectives for the organization; ensuring it maintains its values, while meeting the established goals.

In this role, you will work closely with the BBV team to create visually appealing and impactful designs for a variety of purposes, including marketing materials, presentations, and educational resources. Collaborate with the BBV team to ensure that designs accurately reflect our mission and programs. Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies.
