Elara Caring Hospice is looking for Veteran Volunteers to visit with Veteran hospice patients. To provide a listening ear, or just comfort by being there with them. We are also looking for Veterans to assist with Pinning Ceremonies. One way we are able to recognize the service of the men and women who served in our military. Words of honor and thanks are spoken, and a commemorative pin is presented. Volunteers with certified pet therapy dogs are needed to visit local hospice patients in their homes or long-term facilities. Patients enjoy the extra attention and unconditional love they feel from a four-legged companion, especially if they no longer have pets of their own.
