Get involved in a community organization based around volunteer service, learning STEM through fun activities, and participating in humanitarian relief efforts in our community, state, and nation. Get involved and join the Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force! The Civil Air Patrol is an all volunteer-run organization with local chapters, performing essential non-combatant missions for the U.S. Air Force in time of need. There's no obligation for military service while in the Civil Air Patrol; volunteer on your time! Youths may join from ages 12-18 as C.A.P. cadets to learn about military customs and courtesies, build up leadership and social skills, team building, collaborate with fellow cadets in activities, as well as participate in unique aviation activities. From orientations rides in our Cessna single-prop aircrafts, glider rides, to building and launching model rockets; the Civil Air Patrol is suited for youths interested in STEM, want to learn more about the military, and want to socialize and have fun with other youths in their community. The Tri-City Composite Squadron is in need of a Communications enthusiast to operate and training with our radio equipment. Communications with portable and base stations is critical in times of disasters and missions. A volunteer candidate should ultimately be a teacher and mentor at heart, and can teach radio communication concepts to adults and cadets, as well as learn the rules and regulations with the organization for radio communication. If you feel are well-versed in radio communication technology and wish to offer your expertise, please reach out! The Tri-City Composite Squadron is looking for mentor-minded veterans to help support our cadets learn about military careers, lead drill and ceremonies learning, teach customs and courtesies in the military, and advise the commander of leadership and direction for the unit. Many cadets join the Civil Air Patrol do so pursue a career in aviation, learn if military life is for them, and help prepare them for a military academy. Cadets love and are enriched to learn from veteran members as they share their military experience. If you feel you're veteran, non-commissioned officer, or officer from any of the armed service branches, and love to teach and mentor others about your military career, please reach out!
