Mission Statement

Ohlone Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) animal welfare nonprofit serving Fremont, Newark and Union City. We advocate for all creatures, from urban wildlife to companion animals. While OHS doesn’t operate a shelter, we’re one of the few humane societies to maintain a wildlife rehabilitation center.

Description

The Ohlone Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center is where trained rehabilitators provide specialized care for injured, orphaned, displaced, and/or distressed urban wildlife in order to release them back into their native habitat. Some of the wildlife cared for are birds, squirrels, foxes, and reptiles.

The OHS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, located in Newark, is an extraordinary place for people who love wild animals of all kinds and for individuals seeking a career in animal care.
