BARK Rescue CA is a foster-based, volunteer-run, non-profit animal rescue organization. Without fosters and adopters we cannot save the millions of abandoned dogs in the U.S. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Foster & Adoption Coordination Team and perform one or more of the following responsibilities: Foster & Adopter Recruitment: Reach out to Foster and Adoption Applicants to schedule a virtual interview and virtual home check (all done in the same meeting). Interview Foster & Adoption Applicants virtually (Zoom, Google Meet, or FaceTime) Post-interview, discuss findings from the interview with BARK Rescue CA Founder to determine which dog(s) would be a good fit for the Foster or Adopter Applicant Send Foster Agreement to newly-approved fosters, Foster-to-Adopt Agreement to newly-approved potential adopter, and Adoption Agreement to adopters who have completed the 30-day fostering period. Send Foster Welcome Package to newly-approved fosters Coordinate and facilitate in-person meet & greets with potential adopters Send Adoption Welcome Package to approved adopters Plan, organize & coordinate Adoption Events Man Adoption Events Transportation: Coordinate transport of the animal from shelter to foster home and/or from foster home to adopter’s home Transport animals- within the Bay Area, within Modesto/Patterson/Manteca area, from Modesto/Patterson/Manteca area to the Bay Area Get supplies (food, collar, leash, some toys & treats) from Lusi's house or pet store & facilitate meet the dog and foster parents Foster Engagement : Check in with fosters on a weekly basis, ensuring fosters send updated photos/videos of the foster dog & provide dogcare advice when requested by fosters Attend to Fosters' needs Other Administrative Work : Post and update adoption profiles on PetFinder and Adopt-A-Pet Update our internal foster and adoption records As the above responsibilities can be divided among multiple people, we are looking for several volunteers for this team. We understand that as a volunteer you have other responsibilities outside of our organization, so we will work with your schedule. Minimum Requirements: Passionate about animals, Reliable & Meet Deadlines : At BARK Rescue CA, we need volunteers who not only have passion in helping animals but are also reliable and get the work done in a timely manner Communicative & Collaborative : Our social media team needs to collaborate with other teams within BARK, such as: Social Media team to help promote our dogs, including updates on our dogs, foster needs, and adoption needs Fundraising team to help raise the needed funds to cover dogs’ expenses Finance team to reimburse fosters for reimbursable expemses. For successful collaborations, we expect you to be communicative with other BARK current and potential volunteers. This means responding to messages within a reasonable time frame, updating anyone who needs to be updated, follow up with other volunteers in the team to ensure completion of work by the set deadlines, etc. Dog care experience and skills so you can provide great advice to fosters and adopters when questions or concerns arise about the dog. Organized & planful, especially if you would like to plan/organize the adoption events or coordinate transport Great follow-up skills as you will need to check in with the fosters weekly to get updates on the dogs. Virtual Opportunity

Our Social Media team is crucial in bringing visibility to the dogs that we have saved and want to save. BARK Rescue CA is a 100% foster-based, 100% funded by donations, and 100% volunteer-run. Social media has been crucial in getting donations that we use to take care of the dogs that are currently in our foster care or in boarding. Social media has also been crucial in getting voluntary foster families whom we rely on to shelter and take care of the dogs that we have rescued from stressful shelter environments and/or from euthanasia that is caused by shelter overcrowding. We need volunteers to join our Media Team to perform any one or more of the following responsibilities : Create content for our Instagram account (@barkrescue_ca), OR our Tiktok account (@barkrescueca), OR our YouTube Channel. Creating content for our YouTube channel also includes editing the content with a video editor. Create a social media content calendar to plan out content for our Instagram, Tiktok, and/or YouTube accounts & delegate the content creation responsibilities to others in the social media team (if there are others in the team). This can be done on a monthly basis or a weekly basis, depending on your preference/availability. Review the content created by others in the social media team before posting the content in the respective social media platform(s). Engage social media audience (you can do this for our Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, or YouTube). This includes responding to comments and/or messages. Analyzes the analytics of any of our social media platforms & come up with key recommendations to improve our performance/engagement on that platform. We understand that as a volunteer you have other responsibilities outside of our organization, so we will work with your schedule. We do not expect you to do all of the above bullet points (unless you actually have the time to do all of the above bullet points. Minimum Requirements: Passionate about animals, Reliable & Meet Deadlines : At BARK Rescue CA, we need volunteers who not only have passion in helping animals but are also reliable and get the work done in a timely manner Communicative & Collaborative : Our social media team needs to collaborate with other teams within BARK, such as: The foster & adoption team- for weekly update posts on our dogs, for promo posts of our adoption events, and to identify potential fosters and adopters. The fundraising team- for promo posts of our fundraising activities and any other donation needs. The Volunteer Recruiting Team- to promote our open volunteer roles & posts to recognize our hard-workin volunteers. For successful collaborations, we expect you to be communicative with other BARK volunteers. This means responding to messages within a reasonable time frame, updating anyone who needs to be updated, follow up with other volunteers in the team to ensure completion of work by the set deadlines, etc. Has a good eye for design The bandwidth to do at least 1 post per week unless you’re creating the content calendar & reviewing content that is created by other volunteers in the team. A plus if you have experience with animal rescue organizations.

As BARK Rescue CA is run 100% by part-time volunteers, volunteers make up the backbone of our operations. We cannot save abandoned dogs without dedicated volunteers. We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement Team to help recruit other dedicated volunteers and engage them so that they stay dedicated and motivated. We are looking for dedicated volunteers who will perform one or more of the following responsibilities: Volunteer Recruitment: Ensure volunteer applicants have reviewed our this page and the videos on this page and have filled out our Volunteer Application. Interview volunteer applicants to learn more about them to see which team(s) would be a good fit for them. We believe that volunteers are more likely to be motivated and engaged if they take part mostly in projects or tasks that they are interested in or are good at.
