Mission Statement

The Mission of Sims Strategic Mentoring is to empower at-risk, troubled, challenged and (confident) gifted youth to express respect and responsibility in their image. It is their aim of compassion in their character to listen first, then establish a level of communication to better understand and develop ways to help youth.

Description

Sims Strategic Mentoring, A non-profit corporation, was founded in 2017 in North Little Rock, Arkansas by Youth Pastor Walter L. Sims Jr. and Deloris Greer. Many youth in our community lacked self-respect, social skills and guidance through oppositional phases with career perspectives. Sims and Greer talked with parents of the community about allowing their children to participate in and experience a neighborhood activity where their children would do a door to door survey questioning neighbors on improving developments. Youth would then ask neighbors to rate their initial approach, punctuality, and assertiveness. Youth learned from the community how important it was to be involved in environmental awareness, and understanding the value of their surroundings. Youth Pastor Walter Sims Deloris Greer started Sims Strategic Mentoring.

Sims Strategic Mentoring envisions a community of Schools and Neighborhoods where Social Emotional learning is developed through nurturing one on one relationships, helping youth to reach their full potential, able and capable of making responsible decisions, becoming community leaders and achievers of tomorrow.

Sims Strategic Mentoring provides workshops in the area of Public Speaking, Mental health management, business basics, mastering a skill and learning success principles.
