Rotary Club of Mercer Island (RCMI) is seeking an energetic, organized and passionate volunteer member who would enjoy serving as our Speaker Engagement Lead. This person would work closely with the Club's Marketing, Communications and Member Engagement (MCME) working group to recommend, plan, schedule and promote the appearance of relevant guest speakers for Club in-person meetings (1st and third Tuesdays of each month at the Mercer Island Community Center, 12:30 - 1:30 pm) If you'd welcome the opportunity to coordinate our Club's engagement calendar with interesting and innovative individuals, we'd enjoy meeting you! Ideally you live on Mercer Island or nearby and are familiar with our Club's service focus in the community. Our Mercer Island Club has three core pillars of service focus: Food and Housing Security, Education and the Environment. We are a true service-oriented club whose members enjoy listening to and learning from interesting guest speakers twice a month in our lunchtime meetings. Having a great portfolio of speakers also helps us attract new members! Your core duties would include: 1. Researching and recommending potential guest speakers incorporating member suggestions and relevant topics for service focus, as part of the MCME working group. 2. Contact the speaker's office, collect relevant bio information, and confirm logistics for their appearance. 3. Update and maintain the Club speaker calendar information 4. Notify Club PR contact of speaker appearance 5. Promote speaker appearance in Club social media 6. Day of meeting, be onsite to greet speaker and introduce them in the meeting Note; The current Speaker Engagement volunteer is stepping down as of June 30 so the new incumbent will begin immediately working on speaker scheduling for July and beyond. Rotary Club of Mercer Island (RCMI) is seeking an experienced community volunteer who enjoys the job of Club Secretary and serving in an officer capacity on the Board of Directors for the Club. The Club Secretary is responsible for compiling and recording Board meeting minutes, administering membership information in the Rotary database system, organizing the monthly Board meeting agenda with the Club President, coordinating scheduling of Board meetings including Zoom hosting, filing required documents within the Rotary system, and organizing communications on behalf of the Club President or other Board members. If you're someone who is detail oriented, tech-savvy, organized and a good communicator, we'd enjoy hearing from you! Prior experience as a non-profit Club Secretary is highly desirable but not essential. Ideally you live on Mercer Island or nearby and are familiar with the work that Rotary does in our community and beyond. This person would work closely with the Club's Marketing, Communications and Member Engagement and Club Support Teams to plan and organize social and member outreach events for the Club including: Rotary booths at community events Rotary new member recruitment activities (evening cocktail socials, breakfast gatherings, etc.) Annual fund-raising event (in person) in conjunction with the Club Foundation Rotary 2x a year Club social events (holiday and end of year parties) Other informal get-togethers for the Club such as picnic outing If you're someone who enjoys working with and organizing the work of others to make an event truly special, and you have a passion for community service, we'd enjoy meeting you! Ideally you live on Mercer Island or nearby and are familiar with the local community venues. Our Mercer Island Club has three core pillars of service focus: Food and Housing Security, Education and the Environment.
