To break the cycle of homelessness and poverty through education
HIPS provides post secondary scholarships to homeless or students in poverty between the ages of 17-25 to attend a trade school, community college or university to achieve an education that allows them to be competitive in the job market, earn a living/sustainable wage and break their cycle of homelessness or poverty.
In seven years HIPS has awarded over $800,000 in over 250 scholarships. Our scholarships focus on removing the barriers or stressors our scholars face while pursuing their aspirations from food insecurities, homelessness, transportation challenges, technology needs, child care costs, and general living expenses.
Our scholars are self-invested each with a vision and determination to achieve their goals. Our students typical GPA is 3.5 or above in any school year.
