We provide therapeutic opportunities using donkeys, to children and adults with cognitive, and behavioral challenges, including the at-risk community, and military populations.
Description
I need your help to achieve our goals : Setting a definitive place for the donkeys in a paradise located in Cave Creek. Raising funds to accomplish our mission.
Donkeys of the Heart is the only nonprofit working solely with donkeys in Arizona. Donkeys are in Europe for 3 decades considered as premier therapeutic animal. My experience comes from France where I first discovered these amazing animals and started to learn donkey-therapy. The benefits are unmeasurable for population suffering from mental health disorders, and diseases. Donkeys are very different from horses. They are unique, they possess a high level of cognitive abilities, they are very smart, they have a strong sense of empathy, they need to bond, they are fearless, and they think a lot! I call them the philosophers of the equine species.
