SouthernCare Hospice is seeking volunteers to cut patients' hair and help them feel beautiful! We have a few patients who are not able to leave their homes due to mobility issues or pain, but who still deserve to feel beautiful and neat. Your help can really make a difference in a hospice patient's life! Since you'll be visiting patients, we do require a TB test, drug screen, fingerprinting, background check, proof of COVID vaccination, and completion of a training session. Southerncare Hospice does not only provide exceptional care, but also enhances it's services with the help of our volunteers. Visiting a patient for an hour- once a week, twice a month, 4 times a month or even once a month makes a great difference to our patients. Conversations, music which could include playing an instrument to the patient or even singing, reading, watching television together or accompanying a patient to a facility activity can brighten a patient's day where it gives him/her something to look forward to each week or month. Our volunteers choose which patient they wish to visit, we make visits easy and convenient for both our volunteers and our patients. We serve patients in portage county, stark county, summit county and medina county, and we have the need for volunteers. So think about sharing some time with one (or more) of our patients. The Southerncare hospice volunteer program offers opportunities for volunteers not only to make a difference in the patients lives that they visit, but also gives them the opportunity to meet other volunteers with similar goals and values, and also attend monthly lunch and learn education presentations as well as other activities during the year. Southerncare Hospice is seeking volunteers to maintain the supply inventory list for patients supplies. Weekly check of some of the supplies needed for patient care are located in our office and must be tracked. This also includes putting supplies away. Join our team!!!! Your help for a few hours each week will make a great difference for our patients and families. Email or call for more information or to register for an upcoming volunteer orientation.` This is a weekly thing usually our supplies come on wednesday's this would be done in the office if anyone has an interest please reach out to me!!!!

Comfort a Southerncare Hospice patient with your own Handiwork!! Use your imagination to bring a smile to our hospice patients. If you can sew a straight line, you can make many things needed like a lap blanket, pillow, hand grip, or even a clothing protector. We have needs in all these things they dont have to be whats on the list you can choose to make whatever. You make items, or you can make it and take items to your patients. we invite you to join our team of volunteers. Also this is great to make something nice for our patients even if its a homemade birthday card. SO join our team to make our patients happy.
