Description

On September 10, 2001, two local Boy Scouts, for their Eagle Scout Project, instituted the very first public library in Upper Chichester, PA., Delaware County. Growing up these boys frequently visited libraries which were always located in other towns. They wanted a special purpose for their Eagle Scout project that would help many. So, George and Gregory Daniels decided they wanted a library in their town. They collected over 10,000 books from their community to establish a new library in their community. These books are currently housed in two storefronts in the Willowbrook Strip Mall. Upper Chichester Library provides virtual programs such as Mr. Andrew’s very popular Music for preschoolers, Mental Health seminars on how to deal with COVID and quarantine, Ms. Pam’s Preschool story time, Sara’s Books and Babies story time, Art and Crafts, Seniors, Lets Play Card and Board games, Bus Trips, Educational seminars from the local museums and aquariums.
