Mission Statement
Spirit, Pride & Class The Southern York County School District Band Boosters is a non-profit group dedicated to supporting the band programs through volunteering and financial support. Music education is a vital part of our public education and extra curricular education programs. Students have been practicing and performing safely throughout the pandemic. Last fall, the marching band brought home the gold in the Cavalcade of Bands competition in Hershey, PA. Our color guard programs, stage band, jazz band and drum line are also growing and excelling as they work together to share their love for music and performance. We are Warrior proud of all our students, teachers and volunteers and are moving forward to a full schedule of competitions and community events in 2022.
Description
The Southern York County School District band programs participate and host a variety of community events. From providing music at community tree lighting ceremonies, veterans events and community parades to hosting an annual Swing Dance in the winter and Jazz Fest in the spring open to the community. The band programs from marching band, color guard, indoor drum line to concert stage bands provide musical educational opportunities for our students. In November 2021, the marching band was awarded the top prize in their division at the annual Cavalcade of Bands in Hershey, PA.
