Mission Statement

Covenant Hospice uses an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals and volunteers to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Hospice recognizes the patient and family as the unit of care. The hospice team works with he patient/family to establish and coordinate an individualized plan of care. We serve the following counties in East Tennessee: Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke, Cumberland, Grainger, Hamblen, Jefferson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier and Union.

Description

Covenant Hospice provides support and care for terminally ill patients so that they may live as fully and as comfortably as possible. Considered to be the model for quality, compassionate care at the end of life, hospice care involves a team-oriented approach to medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support that is tailored to the patient and family’s needs and wishes. The focus is on caring, not curing, and in most cases care is provided in the patient’s home or in a home-like setting. Covenant Hospice was the first hospice program in Tennessee.

We are not-for-profit, community-owned and based in East Tennessee. Our revenues stay in this area in the form of advances in treatment and technology, as well as innovative health improvement programs like Katerpillar Kids Camp, an annual bereavement support camp for children who have lost loved ones.
