Mission Statement

Oregon Military Museum inspires and educates visitors about Oregon's military heritage and legacy, including the National Guard, the state's early militia, and all branches of the Armed Forces.

Description

The OMM Volunteer Corps includes three main volunteer groups: Visitor Services/Historic Park, Library/Archives, and Shop/Restoration. The Historic Park open seasonally, May-November, with the help of Visitor Services/Historic Park volunteers. Library/Archives volunteers are currently helping to prepare the new library and support archives projects while Shop/Restoration volunteers assist in preservation and upkeep of military vehicles and artillery, as well as exhibit support. All support educational outreach, helping with events, tours, and programs throughout the year. OMM is excited to offer training, appreciation, and other perks to new and returning volunteers who help make the Museum available and welcome to all visitors.

The Oregon Military Museum is located at the Oregon National Guard’s Camp Withycombe in Clackamas, OR. Part of the Oregon Military Department, the museum closed in 2008 and has since moved into its new site and currently in preparation of fully opening the museum galleries, library, and program spaces. OMM continues to open the Historic Park each year, May-November, including the Quartermaster Storehouse, Artillery Barn, and outdoor tanks display, along with monthly and special events throughout the season.
