If you have a desire to make a difference in the lives of others this could be what you're looking for. Hospice patients are home bound and truly enjoy a friendly face to visit with. Whether it be their own home or assisted living facility, a visitor can be a real blessing. Perhaps the hospice patient is living with a family member unable to get out of bed sleeping most of the time, the caregiver might need a break to run errands etc., and a volunteer to sit at the bedside while the caregiver goes out can mean a breath of fresh air to the family member caring for that person. It's as simple as befriending a stranger that needs a kind individual to help them through their darkest days.

Volunteer are vital in having one on one visits with hospice patients and their families. Most people on hospice are unable to leave their home and often their family members are working outside of the home leaving their loved one without the luxury of companionship for long periods of time during the day. If you would like to donate a few hours per week visiting with a person on hospice please respond to this request.
