Mission Statement
To promote economic development of the Batwa People by supporting, funding and establishing programs and projects through a network of initiatives that aims at holistic transformation and self-sufficiency of the current and future generations to come.
Description
Friends of Batwa International is a not-for-profit organization that was established to aid and empower the Batwa people and other vulnerable groups in the betterment of their lives. The Batwa are responsible for overseeing and running various projects including income-generating activities. This allows the Batwa to undergo a transformation process from a highly dependent lifestyle, to one of self-reliance, prosperity, and social integration.
We bridge the gap between the Batwa and host tribes so that they can finally be appreciated as sentient human beings and live together without any form of discrimination. This would include having access to land, boosting household incomes, access to health care, sanitation, hygiene, education and spiritual needs.
