Mission Statement

Our mission is to Empower women with knowledge, confidence and skills to work their way out of poverty, care for their families and strengthen their communities.

Description

Strongwomen Uganda is a community based organization which was established in 2020 in Nambale sub-county, Iganga district with a focus of supporting marginalized women and girls in rural areas. Our program focuses on increasing women’s skills, decision-making power and access to economic resources while promoting skills building, self-esteem, access to information and resources, and community action that will position women as confident decision-makers and leaders in their homes and communities.

SWUGA also identifies key policy and cultural issues that affect the economic empowerment of women and engages key stakeholders to advocate for gender friendly policies with the overall goal of increasing the ability of women to exercise their rights and achieve social-economic empowerment.
We work with our clients and support them to set up income generating activities such as poultry farming, weaving art, better farming skills, setting up local kiosks and tailoring while supporting them to access and adopt better credit and saving skills.
