Enlighten Development Organization (EDO)

Description

The Enlighten Development Organization (EDO) is a community development and humanitarian organization that was found in 2018 and registered as NGO/R/2326 on 5 th of October 2021 under the Tanzania Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002, made under section 11(1) and 17(2) of Act No. 24 of 2002 to operate in Tanzania Mainland, to support the government policy with the aim of involving everybody in the community to fight against poverty and injustice by identifying the sources and causes of poverty and injustice at the community level and providing education and counselling to people in the community.

EDO is dedicated working with Children, girls, women with families and their communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. It promotes rights to the vulnerable groups and enhances equality for girls. Considering the sustainability of life for the empowered children and girls, we focus also on wildlife conservation and land protection.
Our goal is to Achieve gender equality and empower women, girls and children.
EDO has different programs such as Children and girls back to school programs for dropout due to various reasons, vocational training programs, poetry and piggery for women, school wash programs, sports and games programs to schools and out of school youths, fundraising programs, volunteering networking and hosting programs, modern agriculture training, tree planting, gardening programs.
