Mission Statement

Pawsperity is a 501c3 organization dedicated to reducing generational poverty in Kansas City. Through our state-certified grooming school and our Lee's Summit grooming salon, we train struggling parents to be pet groomers and salon managers, both in-demand, living-wage trades.

Description

Pawsperity, formerly known as The Grooming Project, is a unique nonprofit founded just 7 short years ago. Fresh off of a rebrand and move into a beautiful new facility, Pawsperity has had immense success transforming the lives of impoverished families. Often single moms, Pawsperity's unique educational approach offers self-reliance through an extensive program of learning life skills as well as the art and trade of pet grooming. Besides the nonprofit grooming school, a doggie daycare and two salon businesses (staffed by program graduates) are also in existence to support the organization's mission. As Pawsperity continues to grow and increase its impact, it is looking for dedicated interns and volunteers to support its passionate team of staff.
