Mission Statement

The Parkesburg Library provides books, materials, programs and information for personal growth and lifelong learning.

Description

The library had its beginning as the "Ladies Civic & Literacy Club of Parkesburg" in 1915. The current building was opened in 1967. Our library brings people together to enjoy reading, programs, computers and other resources spanning the needs of toddlers to retirees. Being a member of the Chester County Library System, we are able to access the books, DVDs, CDs, etc. of the other 17 libraries for our patrons. We have numerous programs, such as PAWS for Reading (kids read to friendly dog to develop reading skills), gardening in raised beds in the back of the library, flower gardening in the front of the library, Knitting and Crochet Club, Mystery Book Club, etc. We are a favorite resource for home educators.
