Make a difference when it matters most. Are you searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others? Then you belong here! Hospice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team. Volunteers provide companionship to patients and an extra pair of eyes to their caregivers. You may also run errands , make gifts or provide administrative support in the hospice office. You will be trained in the area of volunteering that interests you. You must be vaccinated for Covid. This is a volunteer position. There is no pay.

Hold a hand, send a card, listen, read or sing. Make gifts for patients, perform light housekeeping or just sit and provide comfort. Our volunteers usually spend 1-3 hours with a patient. During this time they can read to patients, play games, write letters, assist with plant or pet care, talk about patient's life or just sit and keep them company. Any amount of time you can spare means the world to our patients and their families.

As a volunteer for Regency Hospice you will play a vital role in the lives of our patients and their families. Hospice volunteers provides support for persons in the last phases of their life who have chosen to focus on comfort care over curative care. Volunteers can listen to or tell a story, play a game, do a craft, watch tv or just sit with a patient and provide emotional support. You will visit patients in their home or in a skilled nursing facility. You can choose the day, time and area you would like to work in. Volunteers play a key role in the life of a hospice patient. Please consider becoming a volunteer even if you can only contribute an hour a week. You will not regret it! Hope to see you soon!

At Regency Southerncare Hospice, our purpose is to provide comfort, compassion, dignity and peace to terminally ill patients and their families through a holistic approach to physical, spiritual and emotional care by professionally trained hospice teams and specialized community resources. Our volunteers are a part of that team.
