Objective: The objective of the content creator is to help assist the marketing department by creating content that can be published in the future. Responsibilities: creating flyers, social media content (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook), creating posts regarding recipes, nutrition tips, and facts, Creating posts reflecting daily operations at HEBNI, creating newsletters and blogs. Qualifications: This volunteer position requires someone that is comfortable using Canva to create social media posts and flyers. Canva is a free online graphic design tool, that is very user-friendly and has multiple tutorials. This volunteer position also requires someone that is creatively inclined and takes criticism well. Lastly, this volunteer position requires a computer and webcam to create content and have zoom meetings to update the marketing team on the progress of their content. Time Commitment: Although this volunteer position is most effective in person, it is possible for this position to be a Hybrid of remote work and in-person work. We ask that the volunteer participating in this role dedicate 8-12 weeks, to create as much as they can. Training: Training for Canva can be done in person or via zoom YouTube video links that can be helpful can also be sent to volunteers via email Zoom training can be done in person Overall guidelines for content will be discussed in person. Objective: To help increase interaction with as many event-goers as possible. Responsibilities: Man different stations during events like helping to run the smoothie bike or helping with parking during events. Ensure that the event is running as smoothly as possible. Ensure that volunteers are aware of all the different stations available during the events. Qualifications: Anyone can be an event booster, but we emphasize that our boosters have great communication skills, are charismatic, and are full of energy. Time commitment: Event boosters are need-based, so this position will pop up every time we need an event booster. The position will be held in 2 hour increments, if a person would like to volunteer for the entire event they can select multiple shifts. Training Training will be in person or via zoom, depending on the position. Training will also be held a week before the event, to ensure that the event booster is aware of what they need to do. The training will be coordinated with the volunteer coordinator. Additional requirements: The volunteer is required to commute to the events. Although we have monthly events at our NRC, there are community engagement events that are far away from our NRC, therefore, resulting in varied commutes. The exact location of the event will be posted with the volunteer description and training guide. Event booster positions available: Check in (1 person) Event Booster’s in this position ensure that everyone that comes to the event are checked in by validating registration with Event bright, as well as annotating their first and last name. Parking (3 people) Event Booster’s in this position ensure that the space available to parking is used as efficiently as possible.Event boosters also ensure that people park their cars adequately spaced apart to reduce the chance of door dings or altercations Smoothie bike assistant (1 person) Event Booster’s in this position ensure that the smoothie bike has enough fruits and vegetables to continue producing smoothies. The Event Booster is also expected to help contribute to the production of the smoothies by pedaling the bike Booth assistant (4 people) Event Booster’s in this position ensure quality service Is given to event goers. There will be boots filled with samples, and products that will require assistance. The booth assistants are expected to keep things stocked and promote participation. Clean up crew (3 people) After the event, It is likely that there will be garbage left around. The clean up crew is in charge of keeping the venue as clean as possible by picking up trash and discarding of them accordingly. Tear down crew (3 people) After the event, all volunteers and staff will be tired from the day.TheTear Down Crew will be the people that assists in Packing objects onto the van, and ensuring that nothing gets left behind.

Objective: Taking photos and videos of events that go on during the year, that we can use to build up our social media content. Responsibilities: Taking quality photos and videos during nutrition education programs, Volunteer events, Any meetings, or community events we have Helping out during Wednesday lives Cropping or adjusting photos to enhance their overall appearance. Qualifications: Has experience taking photos as a hobby or professionally. Knows how to enhance photo appearance with iPhone or even with photoshop. Is able to commute to events and to our NRC to take photos and help with Wednesday lives. Time commitment: We believe that two days a week would be optimal for collecting photos and videos, with Wednesday being a necessity in order to help with the Wednesday lives. Training A short youtube playlist will be compiled for tips taking pictures with a phone camera, as well as a couple of photo editing recommendations. Additional requirements: A person in this position should be able to handle constructive criticism well. This is a great opportunity for people to practice a skill or get their name out as a photographer. If someone is interested in marketing, it's an opportunity for them to practice taking photos during a busy event.

Objective: To pack balanced meals prepared for children into insulated bags. Responsibilities: Ensure that bowls are filled up with prepared meals Ensure that lids on the bows are secure before packing in insulated bags Pack 36-42 meals per insulated bag depending on capacity Qualifications: Ability to work in an assembly line fashion Ability to work as a team Effective communication skills Time commitment: This volunteer position is sporadic, and usually occurs Thursday mornings from 9:00 AM -10:30 AM, or Thursday evenings, from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm Training There will be a guide sent out that explains the assembly line, as well as in-person training upon arrival from the volunteer coordinator. Additional requirements: Volunteers are required to commute to the NRC to be able to volunteer in this position.

Objective: To pack quality produce into a plastic bag to be able to feed a family of four. Responsibilities: Packing an equal amount of vegetables in each bag according to size. Removing or separating any vegetables that come in damaged into a separate box to be reviewed later on. Qualifications: Volunteers should be detail-oriented Ability to lift 20-pound bags of produce periodically Time commitment: This volunteer position is every Monday from 10:30 AM - 12:00 pm. We understand that life can be busy, we ask that you come once every two months at a minimum. Training A training guide will be sent to the volunteers as soon as they apply, and more training will be given in person on the morning of the packing event. Additional requirements: The volunteer has to be able to commute to the NRC for the volunteer opportunity. They also have to agree with our mission to help people eat better by providing them with nutritional education and access to quality produce.
