Bristol Hospice believes that for hospice patients in final stages of life, animals can provide a calming and comforting presence that might otherwise be absent. Would you and your pet enjoy providing companionship to hospice patients in Snohomish County? Together, you would meet our hospice patients where they live. The types of interaction may be joyful or very subdued, but we’re willing to bet it will include a fair bit of tail wagging! Volunteers do not provide any medical services, but do offer comfort and companionship to our patients, who can often feel rather isolated. We provide all necessary training to give you the tools and confidence to create meaningful moments with our patients. As a Bristol Hospice volunteer: you are assigned to patients in your own community you create visit schedules based on individual availability In addition to being adorable, all animals must be registered through an accepted therapy pet program. If bringing this kind of companionship and joy interests you, we can’t wait to get to know you! (And you too, Fido.)
