Mission Statement
To build upon our distinguished history in the nation’s capital dating back to the mid-1930s, as a model, productive, and balanced Islamic community that values and serves the needs of our members, take seriously the obligation of citizenship and promotes the oneness of Allah (Almighty G-d), the excellence and commonality of the human family, and establish valuable relationships with our neighbors, fellow citizens, and all G-d conscious people, worldwide.
Description
Our goal is to be a model Islamic community within and noticeably contributing to the capital city of America, leading in community service (i.e. establishments in religion, culture, education & training, business, health & human services, housing for veterans, aging & general members, youth services, neighborhood excellence, inter/intrafaith leadership, etc), promoting peace, unity, and justice for all people, embracing all healthy-minded people and seen as a community that G-d established, exemplifying the universal teachings of the Qur’an and life example of Prophet Mohammedﷺ, as taught by the late Imam W. Deen Mohammed (raa).
