The 30-Minute Beach Cleanup increases public awareness and a sense of responsibility for the environment, while promoting community spirit. The 30-Minute Beach Cleanup meets at the end of Granada Ave. in Belmont Shore (Long Beach) every 3rd Sat. of the month at 10 a.m. Other Beach Cleanups in Long Beach are scheduled throughout the year. See http://www.BeachCleanup.org for details.

Description

Belmont Shore resident, Justin Rudd, 41, heads the monthly grassroots effort. According to Rudd, the purpose of limiting the monthly 30-Minute Beach cleanup to 30 minutes is to generate greater attendance among those who either do not have the time or desire to engage in a more extensive effort. The 30-Minute Beach Cleanups are scheduled every third Saturday of the on the beach at the end of Granada Avenue on Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach. The effort extends toward the Belmont Pier and toward the peninsula. Other Beach Cleanups are scheduled throughout the year at various locations in Long Beach.
