We walk with migrants through the long journey to seek safe-haven in the U.S. and navigate a challenging legal process. We provide guidance and opportunity to transform migrants lives while they are in the U.S. awaiting their court hearing to gain asylum.

Description

Most people don’t know that a migrant seeking asylum must do so from within the United States, either at a port of entry or otherwise. However, by following the lawful procedure and arriving in America without a visa (there is no asylum visa), the individual seeking refuge is subject to arrest and indefinite detention. A migrant may qualify for release from custody if they are part of a family unit or have shown to the satisfaction of federal authorities that they pose no flight risk or threat to safety. Upon release, the migrant is given no guidance, no work authorization, no aid, and no direction.
