Haiti needs help. Fair Trade Minneapolis brings metal wall art; bracelets, necklaces and earrings made with paper-rolled and ceramic beads; hanging birds, bees, and trees; Haiti Friends dolls, ceramic mugs, greeting cards, and head bands - made by parents getting paid fairly for their work at Papillon Marketplace in Haiti - to events in Minneapolis. Fair Trade Minneapolis needs volunteers at the Powderhorn Art Fair in Minneapolis. We're often just my mother and me (see photo - that’s us with a great volunteer!), so I'm reaching out to ask for your help. More information: I've started Fair Trade Minneapolis, a 501c3 nonprofit. We encourage people to choose Fair Trade coffee, tea, chocolate, and gifts - to pay farmers & artisans fairly, protect our environment with the Fair Trade Standards for sustainable agriculture, and ensure that cocoa for Fair Trade chocolate has been farmed by adults. At events, we sell Fair Trade artisan products made in Haiti by parents at Papillon Marketplace https://papillonmarketplace.com. In Haiti, Papillon Marketplace hires parents, provides childcare, and pays theparents fairly for their work - so they'll have money to buy food for themselves and their children. We need volunteers who can help us greet event goers (and get them to take a 2nd look at our great Haitian art!) at the Powderhorn Art Fair in Powderhorn Park at 3400 15th Ave S in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at our booth for Fair Trade Minneapolis - Saturday, August 2 from 9:45 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, August 3, from 9:45 am to 7 pm (with take down after 5 pm). Thank you for helping us in our booth at the Powderhorn Art Fair! We'll be in the Group Exhibitor area close to the parking lot on 15 th Ave S, just north of # 35 th St. We'll also bring dozens of kinds of Fair Trade tea, and some Fair Trade chocolate - and give away "your choices" for free when time permits. Be sure to get some yourself! This meets our mission: to encourage people to choose Fair Trade!
