Mission Statement
The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
Description
The Salvation Army Spartanburg and Union counties has 100 years of significant and long-term experience in understanding the barriers that prevent economically-disadvantaged populations from meeting their basic needs.
Many of the people we serve are on fixed incomes, earning minimum wage, supporting multiple family members on a single wage or simply not working at all. In particular, our 2 Emergency Service offices assist with a food pantry, rent and utilities, clothing and furniture vouchers. Our Boys and Girls Clubs offer safe and stimulating afterschool and summer day camp programs. Our yearly Angel Tree Toy Drive brings joy to children at Christmas. The Salvation Army Spartanburg church operates a wide range of youth and adult programs, doing the most good every day.
