Description

Envision Health Access Initiative, formerly called Eli Health System, is a 501 (c)3 organization founded in 2018 by Dr. Elisha Caldwell to promote HIV care services. Envision is committed to ending the HIV epidemic through collaborative work with governments at national and local levels, national and international organizations, community-based organizations, faith-based organizations, and HIV research institutions. Dr. Caldwell became a prominent advocate for people living with HIV after his firsthand experience in South Sudan. While he was working on an HIV-related project in South Sudan, many patients were out of care and could not continue with their HIV regimen. Most patients receiving HIV care reports stigma from their community and healthcare providers. Young people in their early reproductive age were disproportionately affected by the virus. Dr. Caldwell believes that if we can create awareness about HIV and provide reliable information over outdated information, the world could be a better place for people living with HIV and prevent the next generation from becoming vulnerable to the virus. Dr. Caldwell believes that his years of experience in HIV care services have shown that ending the HIV epidemic begins with you. Core areas of biomedical and non-biomedical interventions are equally crucial to ending the HIV epidemic.
