About Pratham Education Foundation Over the last 20 years, Pratham has grown to be India's largest NGO working to provide quality education to underprivileged youth and children in over 21 states and union territories across the country, with a range of interventions. Learning with Vodafone is a digital education initiative being implemented by Pratham Education Foundation and funded by Vodafone India Foundation and Indus Towers Limited. The program is an innovative teacher-centric technological intervention that is currently working with more than 4,200 schools across 19 states and reaching out to more than 26,000+ teachers. In 2019, learning with Vodafone had launched Gurushala which has been envisaged as the one-stop platform for teachers for resources, learnings, and networking. Gurushala offers teachers access to over 60,000+ content pieces, over 130+ online courses on aspects, like pedagogy, classroom management. About the volunteer We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented volunteers to assist us in proofreading documents in the Marathi, Gujarati, and Kannada languages. As a volunteer proofreader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our educational materials and publications. Your contributions will directly impact the learning experiences of children and youth across various regions. Responsibilities: Review and proofread educational documents, including instructional materials, and other resources, in the Marathi language. Correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors. Verify the accuracy of content, ensuring it aligns with the educational standards and guidelines. Check for consistency in language usage, style, and tone. Identify and report any inconsistencies, ambiguities, or inaccuracies in the documents. Collaborate with the editorial team to address feedback and incorporate necessary revisions. Adhere to project deadlines and maintain a high level of commitment to the assigned tasks. Requirements: Proficiency in Marathi language with excellent reading and writing skills. Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying errors. Good understanding of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and language conventions. Prior experience in proofreading, editing, or related roles is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with educational materials and terminologies is an advantage. Reliable access to a computer or laptop and an internet connection. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
