Keeping Community Women’s Ministry’s Mission is to provide evidence based support, education and advocacy to birth workers, families and the community through the pregnancy, birth and the postpartum periods. We unite birth workers with the mothers and families we serve in order to reduce and prevent the negative maternal, family and birth worker outcomes to build a stronger community.
Keeping Community Women’s Ministry is a place where we foster respect, autonomy and choice. A place to heal emotionally and generationally. A place to change lives. A place to be your authentic self and grow into who you want to be while being honest without repercussion. We create an environment where it is safe to learn and grow with joy and love.
Evidence based care is the cornerstone of KC Women’s Ministry’s brand. We provide services to birth and postpartum clients throughout the Kansas City area in hospitals, birth centers and homes. Our doulas work as both volunteers and contractors and are provided with multiple oppurtunities for continuing education and community.
KCWM Mother’s Closet creates community based events where materials can be donated and received in the same location, encouraging volunteering and engagement for all members of our local society. Mother’s Closet creates a space for material items to be recycled via reuse, lessening waste and reducing the space used in landfills.
