Mission Statement

The mission of Kindred Matters is to create positive outcomes for Northwest children by shaping strong family relationships in the absence of a traditional family environment. Kindred Matters supports families experiencing resource care and siblings living separated in out of home care by providing quality recreation, training and visitation programming.

Description

Programming for siblings living separated includes: Camp To Belong Oregon, a weeklong summer residential summer camp designed to provide brothers and sisters with the opportunity to spend prolonged childhood time together, and KINnect Events, year-round day activities hosted in the Portland, Salem, Eugene and Central Oregon areas which allow siblings living separated to visit in a safe, childhood setting on a regular basis. Programming for families experiencing foster care includes Family Camp, a long weekend retreat where childcare, continuing education training and community building activities are made available to families involved in providing out of home care in Oregon. We have also provided free virtual training geared to foster and adoptive parents.
