Approximately three million of the approximately thirty million Nepalis residing in the country of Nepal live within the Kathmandu Valley. The other ninety percent of Nepalis live in very remote, rural, and austere areas. This is where Nepal Medics are working to erase the socioeconomic prehospital emergency medicine access barrier. Nepal Medics plan on doing this by creating a completely sustainable, measurable, scalable, and replicable Community-Based EMS System. Nepal Medics have started this process through the creation and training of RFRs and RMRs, Lobbying for Rural EMS standards, and training through the Nepal Minister of Health and Population (MoHP), World Health Organization (WHO), and the National Health Training Center of Nepal (NHTS) for a few examples. Nepal Medic is pioneering the first-ever Rural EMS Dispatch Center. This rural EMS Dispatched will offer toll-free access to all in rural Nepal.
