Position Summary The Social Media Volunteer will play a key role in enhancing the online presence of Gray Muzzle Society. This volunteer will be responsible for creating and posting engaging content across various social media platforms. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and a knack for social media engagement. Key Responsibilities Content Creation and Posting: Create and post a minimum of 3-5 updates per week on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Develop content that highlights adoptable animals, success stories, events, and educational information. Engagement: Respond to comments and messages in a timely and compassionate manner. Foster a sense of community among our followers by encouraging interaction and participation. Campaigns and Initiatives: Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns to promote fundraising events, adoption drives, and other initiatives. Collaborate with the team to ensure cohesive messaging across all platforms. Analytics and Reporting: Monitor social media metrics to gauge the effectiveness of posts and campaigns. Provide regular updates to the team on social media performance and engagement. Qualifications Experience: Previous experience managing social media accounts for a nonprofit or business is preferred. Familiarity with social media management tools is a plus. Skills: Strong written communication skills with an eye for detail. Creative mindset with the ability to create engaging visual and written content. Knowledge of best practices for social media engagement and growth. Requirements: Reliable internet access and ability to work remotely. Ability to commit 1-3 hours per week, with flexibility to post during peak engagement times. Position Summary The Animal Transfer/Foster Coordinator is a crucial volunteer role within the Gray Muzzle Society. This position involves approving transfers from local shelters and placing animals in foster homes. Additionally, the coordinator will recruit and onboard new foster families, ensuring all guidelines and regulations are followed. This role may also require providing foster care for animals if a foster home is unavailable. Key Responsibilities Shelter Transfers: Review and approve transfer requests from local shelters with direction from the veterinary team. Coordinate the logistics of transferring animals from shelters to foster homes. Foster Placement: Match animals with appropriate foster homes based on their needs and the fosters’ capabilities. Ensure smooth transitions for animals moving into foster care. Foster Recruitment and Onboarding: Actively recruit new foster families through various channels. Conduct home inspections to ensure potential fosters meet the necessary standards. Educate new fosters on Gray Muzzle Society’s policies and PACFA (Pet Animal Care Facilities Act) guidelines. Provide ongoing support and resources to foster families. Emergency Fostering: Be prepared to temporarily foster animals if a designated foster home is unavailable. Qualifications Experience: Prior experience with animal rescue, fostering, or shelter work is preferred. Knowledge of PACFA guidelines and standards is a plus. Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Compassion for animals and understanding of the unique needs of senior animals. Requirements: Access to reliable transportation for home inspections and potential emergency fostering. Ability to commit 5-10 hours per week, including some weekends and evenings as needed. Willingness to foster animals on a temporary basis if necessary.
