Mission Statement

Burrito Brigade is a non-profit 501c(3) organization whose mission is to feed the hungry and unhoused in Oregon. There is enough food in Oregon to feed every hungry person, but there is a lack of access. We are committed to engaging the community in the fight to end hunger through a network of volunteers and partnerships with organizations. Burrito Brigade works with, accepts donations from, and provides for the public, regardless of housing status, ability, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, social status, addiction, criminal background, religious affiliation or age. It is our belief that food is a basic human right.

Description

Burrito Brigade runs and oversees three different projects in the Eugene/Springfield area.
Eugene Burrito Brigade makes and distributes over 700 burritos to unhoused and food insecure community members each weekend.
Burrito Brigade's food box project, Waste to Taste staffs, stocks and operates a free grocery store 5 days a week, where food insecure folks can come and shop for their own food boxes. Waste to Taste serves over 250 families and diverts 4,000 lbs of food from the landfill each week.
Burrito Brigade also places, oversees and supports the Little Free Pantry project, with 40 Little Free pantries currently placed in the Eugene/Springfield area.

Burrito Brigade requests that our volunteers be vaccinated against Covid 19 and that the Oregon State Mask Mandate and social distancing requirements are followed.
