United Hospice and Palliative Care of Arizona invites you to join our dedicated and compassionate team of volunteers! As a volunteer musician, you play relaxing music for our patients on the intrument of your chosing, gaining incredibly rewarding practice time on your intrument and improving the well-being of our people in your community. By brining the beauty of music to someone in a difficult time, you create a ripple of positivity around you. After completing orientation and training, volunteers will be assigned to a patient for scheduled visists. With patients located valley-wide, there is likely someone just down the road from you who would love to hear you play. Additionally, flexibility within the program allows for volunteers to schedule visits to fit their availbility. As a volunteer you will be trained to meet the needs of patients and families. Because we deal with unique end-of-life needs, we offer different programs. Explore below to find out more! We currently help with: Patient and Family Support Veterans project Music Therapy Administrative Bereavement Our mission is to enhance quality of life by providing expert interdisciplinary care, support, education, and consultation with those affected by serious illness, death, and grief. We will work as a team bringing a quality to life. Volunteer will assist the family members by spending time with the patient while they complete other chores.

Do you believe in the healing power of music? As a Hospice Bedside Musician Volunteer, you will use your musical talents to bring comfort, peace, and emotional support to individuals nearing the end of life. Whether you play guitar, piano, violin, or another soothing instrument, your presence can provide profound moments of calm and connection. You will visit patients in their homes, assisted-living facilities, or long-term care settings to offer quiet, personalized musical experiences-often playing softly at the bedside or in a common area. No performance or applause needed-just your compassionate presence and heartfelt music. Responsibilities: Provide gentle, live music to hospice patients in a one-on-one or small group setting. Respect each patient’s preferences, energy levels, and emotional state. Communicate with volunteer coordinator. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all hospice protocols and safety guidelines. Submit brief visit notes as required by the hospice organization. Qualifications: Proficient in a soothing musical instrument. Comfortable playing soft, reflective music in calm and emotional settings. Must be 16+ and complete hospice volunteer training. Background check required. Location: Our patients are located all over the Phoenix Valley. From personal homes, retirement communities, or assisted living facilities, we bring our services to wherever our patients call home. *Typical patient assignment is within 5-10 miles of volunteer's home Why Volunteer?
